Ethics Statement

The Flavor Chase was sent this flower by the cultivator, for free, to get our thoughts as to where these strains rank among flowers that we’ve tried. As with every product that stops by the flavor chase, the quality has to speak for itself. And with Flavors in their name, I’m sure they’re here to compete. So, let’s start the review.

Appearance

Like all of the flower that I’ve received from flavors, the flower was somewhat flattened by the packaging. Visually, the flower is extremely frosty, but also untrimmed. Cutting the seal, the first thing noticeable is how sticky the flower is. It sticks to the packaging, itself, your fingers, the grinder, the paper, etc. Sticky icky icky. As pretty as it is, it only makes me thing how good the flower looked before being compressed for shipping.

Nose

The nose on this one is noticeably fragrant and reminiscent of sweet blue raspberry candy. That’s fresh out of the pack. Once you crack a bud open an intense pungent funk begins to fill the air. It’s noticeable from quite a few feet away and could easily fill up a smaller room with its aroma. Once ground down, the smell doesn’t get any louder, but is still sweet, funky and aromatic.

The Smoking Experience (Taste and Effect)

I rolled up the flower inside a RAW Black hemp paper. When ground up, the flower produces a more coarse texture than that of a fine pattern. I find this preferable when rolling a joint as it seems flower tastes a little better (IMO) when those trichomes are still in tact. The dry hit is exactly like the nose. Sweet berry candy and funk.

Once lit (with a hemp wick) I was immediately treated to a pleasantly smooth and flavorful nostril exhale. The taste is extremely close to that nose. I’d say its my 2nd favorite flower that I’ve tried from flavors.

The joint is a heavy resin producer. The ring drips down the paper quite a bit. Truly impressive. At about 1/3 of the way into the joint, effects begin to smack you. This one isn’t a creeper so those with a low tolerance have to be ready to be taken on a ride quickly. As someone who enjoys Type 1, I love it. However, I can easily see this inducing a panic attack in someone with thc sensitivities or a low tolerance. A joint would be too much and a smaller hit from a glass (water) pipe would be recommended. It’s truly effective medicine.

Final Thoughts and Shelf Placement

This Blue Gatorade, similar to the Jarhead, is an effects powerhouse. Though the sample I received had more sugar leaf present, it’s easy to see that this would be a beautifully frosted flower when trimmed. It’s nose, taste and effects are everything a cannabis enthusiast loves about quality Type 1. Hybrid leaning, I’m experiencing an intense muscle relaxation paired up with an even stronger head buzz. It’s kind of like having caffeine jitters while also being tired.

As a cultivator, I can surely recommend flavorsbydesiign. As a breeder, I can surely recommend Mainely Organics. These have been truly quality flowers.
