Ethics Statement
The Flavor Chase was sent this flower by the cultivator, for free, to get our thoughts as to where these strains rank among flowers that we’ve tried. As with every product that stops by the flavor chase, the quality has to speak for itself. And with Flavors in their name, I’m sure they’re here to compete. So, let’s start the review.
Appearance

The flower arrived in a vacuum sealed pack. There appeared to be a little bit of flattening from how it was packaged. That being said, the color on this flower is excellent. There is some darker, but frosty sugar leaf present with even frostier light green bud. Handling the buds, they instantly stick to your finger. Breaking down the buds, they stick to your grinder. Rolling up the ground bud, it sticks to the paper. Safe to say this is some of the stickiest flower that I’ve handled in a little bit. However, sad to say, the bud was also heavily seeded. Within these 2 smaller nugs I counted 8 seeds. Hopefully this wont effect potency too much.
Nose

This one is quite interesting. The smell is rather light until you open up the bud and you’re hit with a bold and juicy profile. It’s like the smell of fresh orange juice and little bit of herbs hits the nose and stays there. It’s not a funky flower so much as it’s one that maybe even an anti-cannabis person would like (before you light that shit up). As good as the smell is, it isn’t as loud as the Jarhead cut, possibly due to the bud being seeded. Is it in the right direction? Yes. Could it be better? Also, yes.
The Smoking Experience (Taste and Effect)

I used a Flower Mill grinder to break the bud down. Like I mentioned earlier, this is some impressively sticky shit. I rolled up inside a RAW Black Organic hemp paper. The dry hit, like the nose, contains herbal notes and bit more of what appears to be an orange juice profile.
I lit the joint using the trusty hemp wick. I was met with 0 harshness and pleasant nose exhales. It’s a smooth flower that manages to retain some of the notes from its nose profile. The herbal notes are very present. Unfortunately, the juiciness of the nose has gone away. As I got to about 1/2 – 3/4 into the joint, the taste became more of a burning wood flavor that isn’t harsh, but also isn’t preferred.
Effects begin to kick in at around 1/2 way into the joint. It’s a hybrid Type 1 feeling that hits the body and mind, while not being as intense as the Jarhead from this same cultivator. A lightweight might find it overbearing, but an experienced cannabis consumer should be able to manage the effects without issue. The closer I get towards the end of the joint the woody profile begins to takeover. I am relaxed, but I also was hoping for something stronger.
Final Thoughts and Shelf Placement

Power Couple is a beautifully frosty strain. I’m sure a fully manicured bud would look amazing. Unfortunately, this batch wasn’t as strong in nose and taste of the Jarhead that I tried recently. This strain clearly has potential to be a flavor express train, but will need to try a different batch to really cement its status.
