Ethics Statement

The Flavor Chase was sent this flower by the cultivator, for free, to get our thoughts as to where these strains rank among flowers that we’ve tried. As with every product that stops by the flavor chase, the quality has to speak for itself. And with Flavors in their name, I’m sure they’re here to compete. So, let’s start the review.

Appearance

The flower arrived in a vacuum sealed pack. There appeared to be a little bit of flattening from how it was packaged. That being said, the color on this flower is excellent. Darker green buds with orange pistols and frosty trichome coverage. Still, I would’ve loved to see it at peak cure, prior to the squish.

Nose

The nose on this flower is prominent. There’s heavy notes of sweetness paired up with a funky onion and kush. It could easily fill a room if left out for a few minutes. Once broken down that scent becomes impressively louder. I didn’t notice any additional elements hit the nostrils, but that bold funky sweetness smells delicious.

The Smoking Experience (Taste and Effect)

I broke down the bud using The Flower Mill Mini. I was left with a frosty and somewhat course fluffy consistency. Rolling inside an OCB Organic hemp paper was easy. The flower sticks to itself and holds shape without falling apart. The dry hit, like that nose, is like tasting a sweet onion. It’s pretty unique and definitely is one that excites the taste buds.

Lighting it with the hemp wick provided a smooth and tasty introductory hit. Interestingly enough, the flower hits with more of a dessert note, akin to that of a gelato. It’s a smooth and sweet taste, but I do wish more of that funk was noticeable through nostril exhales. Visually, there’s nice light resin ring that forms underneath the cherry. Not as drippy was some other flowers that I’ve tried, but still commendable.

Effects begin to kick in about 1/3 of the way into the joint. There’s a bit of warmth to the body and my resting heart rate has gone up from 58 to 86. The warmth is not leading to sweating, but a potent muscle relaxation all throughout the upper body (neck down to hips). Roughly 5 more minutes later a head change begins, feeling nearly as strong as the body sensation. The muscles in my face relax and the eyes take on the appearance of the THCa experience. This would be intense for a lightweight, and enjoyable for those with a higher tolerance.

Final Thoughts and Shelf Placement

This Jarhead flower is an effects powerhouse with great taste and a pretty appearance. The only thing(s) I wish I could’ve seen is a non-squished version of this flower and maybe a little bit louder of a nose. Outside of that, excellent quality.
