Flow is aware that the quality of every product that comes through The Flavor Chase must speak for itself. And they’re here to compete. So, let’s get into the review. Note: This flower was glass cured for 5 days prior to use.

Appearance

B.O.B. is without a doubt some of the frostiest flower in the Flow Gardens lineup. It appears that there’s a mixture of phenos in the 1/4 that I ordered. I notice a mix of lighter green and darker purple flowers in this batch. Those dark purple and lighter green colors are complimented by heavy trichome content and orange pistils. The structure is interesting. While containing dense buds, there’s also a bit of looseness consistent with many sativa dominant strains. The cure is also excellent. Dry enough to snap, sticky enough to stay attached to your fingers. You’ll want to use a grinder to break it down. Overall, it does look better than the first time that I’ve tried this strain, but I do think that there are prettier flowers in Flow’s lineup.

Nose

Reminder: I glass cured this flower for approximately 5 days before use. The nose has gotten noticeably louder in that time. There’s a heavy sour citrus berry nose profile. Almost as if it were a dessert wine. The citrus is reminiscent of a grapefruit. It’s a fruit forward profile that would pair up excellently with Flow’s in-house cross, GBO. Once you break the flower down, the smell intensifies and could easily fill up a small room. There’s an underlying stink that also reveals itself. Like musty armpits, grapefruit and berries. It’s a smell that I wouldn’t have gotten had I just left the flower in its plastic calyx container. I recommend anyone who hasn’t yet to glass cure their flower for a little bit of time before consuming. I think you’ll find the enhanced terpene expression even more enjoyable.

The Smoking Experience (Taste and Effect)

I rolled approximately 1 – 1.5 grams in a RAW Black hemp paper. As mentioned earlier, the cure is excellent. After breaking down the flower in a Flower Mill Mini grinder I was left a dominantly fluffy crumbled texture with trichomes remaining in tact. The stickiness easily takes and holds shape for rolling joints. Once rolled up the dry hit was a clear representation of the nose. Like berries, grapefruit and an underlying funk. It’s like a bold wine or champagne.

Lighting the joint with a hemp wick leads to an incredibly smooth introductory hit. Almost immediately a light gray ash appears in front of the cherry. Shortly after, the resin ring forms on the outside of the paper and drips downward, slightly. Inhales are smooth, with potent flavor and 0 harshness. Nostril exhales just the same.

This tastes very much like it smells: Fruit forward with a slight musty funk aftertaste. It’s a profile that leans in the direction of an exotic Type I. Those who enjoy these sorts of flavors will have a great time. Flow did a great job with this phenotype and I hope that they’re considering using it for breeding. I’d love to see their purple pheno of Unicorn Butter used as a pollen donor to this strain as well as GBO and Alpen Flow.

Effects on this flower started early into the joint. About 2 minutes in an uplifting cerebral effect began to take hold. There was some minor body relaxation (nothing overpowering at all), but the head change was like a couple cups of coffee. Energizing. The inner monologue that I mention from time to time? This flower activates it. Thoughts are free flowing, loud and clear. Physically, it’s kind of like a pre workout. I could see myself using this before general exercise or taking the dog on a long walk or hike. I could see myself using this while making music. I could see myself using this while watching a movie or a show. I could see this being used for social events and smoke sessions. The fact that this feeling is still considered illegal in some states would be hilarious if it wasn’t so sad.

Final Thoughts and Shelf Placement

I’ve had enough Flow Gardens flower to realize why they’re one of the main wholesalers in the redistribution market. They consistently produce beautiful indoor flower at an affordable market price (their retail is basically Cali cannabis street price). B.O.B. represents an amazing Type II sativa dominant option for consumers in the market looking for something with that potent uplifting sensation to start the day. If you’re a newer consumer or sensitive to THCa, you may want to start slow and sprinkle in a small amount with a dominant portion of Type III flower. If your tolerance is well adjusted, then I believe you’ve found the new best friend to pair with your morning cup of coffee. Highly recommended.
