Ethics Statement

Note: To my knowledge this brand is exclusive to the California cannabis market and not available online in the THCa hemp market, though the strain itself might be. The Flavor Chase is in no way affiliated with Good Pizzza. This flower was received from an acquaintance in the cannabis industry interested in my thoughts on the brand. If you’ve been reading the blog for a while, you know that at The Flavor Chase, the quality of a product must always speak for itself. And I’m pretty sure Good Pizzza wouldn’t be entering the market with Cadre Verde cultivation if they weren’t here to compete. So, let’s get into the review.

Appearance

It’s been my experience that the Cadre Verde cultivation team puts out some top shelf flower and this one is no exception. Uncle Artie is stellar. Popping open the pack I was treated to dense buds with beautiful purple color and heavy trichome coverage. It seems like whenever the flower has a higher THCa percentage that the trichomes form these clusters that are breathtaking when viewed with a macro lens. It inspires a deeper appreciation. The cure on this flower is excellent. Dry enough to snap, moist enough to stick to your fingers. I highly recommend using a grinder or mill with this flower, otherwise risk losing those precious cannabinoids and terpenes on your fingers when breaking it down.

Nose

The best way I could describe this flower? LOUD. Type I genetics tend to have more aromatic terpene expressions than Type III, even at lower terpene percentage values. Uncle Artie has a rich, sweet dessert and cologne type of profile. Reminiscent of a Gelato and Runtz cross. It’s inviting to the nose and I’m drawn back to the pack. Once you crack a bud open and break down the flower that scent intensifies. The nose on this flower can’t be denied, even if you don’t like this type of terpene expression. You can’t deny how loud it is.

The Smoking Experience (Taste and Effect)

I rolled approximately 1 – 1.5 grams in a RAW Black hemp paper. I used a Flower Mill Mini to grind the flower. With the moisture level where it’s at, the flower becomes a mixture of fine grain and fluffier crumbled material with more trichomes still in tact. The stickiness holds everything together and easily forms a joint with good airflow (not too loose, not too tight). The dry hit is rather intense and just as inviting as the nose.

Lighting the j with a hemp wick, the initial hit is smooth with a potent noticeable flavor. It’s a tasty dessert/cologne profile that makes the mouth water a bit. This is the level of taste that Type III cannabis is climbing to. Whereas Type III is now (in my opinion) at the level where it is competing with some older Type I, it’s still working it’s way towards that exotic flower profile. Uncle Artie has a top shelf flavor profile that is in demand. One thing to note is that many of the flowers on the market these days have something similar in their genetics and contain that gelato/runtz kinda of taste. It’s the taste in demand.

Effects within this flower present themselves almost immediately into the smoke session. Very quickly it begins to take you on a ride up. A stronger headband feeling wraps around the head and provides a more noticeable physical pressure. My inner monologue sounds off and thoughts become free flowing. As this is happening, my body becomes intensely more relaxed than if I were to have had CBDa dominant flower. At the time of this writing it’s close to 12:30 AM and I feel physically relaxed enough to go straight to sleep, but mentally active enough to let the inner monologue continue traveling (Just finished that Netflix movie The Mother with Jennifer Lopez and I think she just made a Steven Seagal movie. Water the plants. Transplant the Ancho chili. Make breakfast sandwiches when I wake up). A little bit of this flower definitely goes a long way. If you’re sensitive to THCa, I would recommend mixing just a pinch of this in with a dominant amount of Type III flower to see if it’s a more balanced feeling for you. If you’re an experienced consumer and have no negative issues with THCa then this flower will provide enjoyable potent feelings throughout the mind and body that last for an extended duration.

Final Thoughts and Shelf Placement

Uncle Artie, cultivated by Cadre Verde, curated by Good Pizzza is simply put an example of top shelf Cali grown. Everything from the look, to nose, to flavor, to effect is on point. It stands toe to toe with some of the best flowers that I’ve had a chance to try and you’ll feel the same way if you like dessert profiles. This does come at a premium price, though. If purchasing in a dispensary, this will retail $60 – $70 per 1/8th (before taxes at some distributors). It’s a steep price to pray for a premium flower, but it’s truly premium flower that you wouldn’t be disappointed by. At Cali street price you’re looking at something in the $30 – $35 1/8th price range. So does The Flavor Chase recommend this one as your next smoke? The **** you mean?! Hell yeah you should pick this one up!!!
