Ethics Statement
The Flavor Chase received this flower after a mistake in a previous order of a different product in which a big stem was received in an 1/8th. The original product was out of stock so a sample of their subscription flower was sent containing a few different strains. TFC is not affiliated with Flow Gardens in any way other than as a customer, though from time to time we do speak on Instagram. Though this product was received for free, Flow Gardens is aware that in The Flavor Chase, the quality of the product has to speak for itself. And they’re here to compete. So, let’s get into the review…
Appearance

As you can see from the photo above, LCG cultivated by Flow is a beautiful light green flower covered in trichomes. It has excellent density and the cure is pretty much perfect. Dry enough to snap, sticky enough to clump together and roll easily. I do recommend a grinder with this flower, otherwise you might end up with so much precious bud stuck to your fingers. The grinder I used was a Flower Mill mini. The texture through the mini was not of the standard ground and nearly powdered consistency that you get with something like a Sharpstone. This is a much more fluffy consistency where trichomes are still very much in tact. Overall, there’s nothing to complain about and a lot to praise.
Nose

This cut of LCG has a uniquely fruit-forward terpene profile with hints of funky gas. Think sweet lemons and undertones of diesel fuel. I’ve had some LCG in the past that was grown in San Francisco, and this one is similar in the nose. However, it is slightly muted in comparison to some of the other flowers that I’ve tried from Flow recently, like their MAC 1 that we reviewed on YouTube. Grinding the flower down, the nose doesn’t change up much, but it does become bolder and a bit louder. Overall, it’s a nice aromatic flower that somewhat reminds me of a dessert, a cleaning product and a gas station.
The Smoking Experience (Taste and Effect)

I rolled approximately 1-1.5 grams in a RAW Black Organic hemp paper. The dry hit, similar to the nose, was a fruit-forward experience. Once lit, the flower is so resinous that the flame on the cherry burns big and bright, like a miniature torch. The immediate tasting notes are a smooth lemon citrus with an interesting funky sweetness. Inhales and nostril exhales are excellent with 0 harshness. The taste almost makes the mouth water with the direction that it leans, but it could be louder. I’m sure had I glass cured the flower instead of leaving it in the calyx container prior to use that the flavor profile would be more intense.
Visually, the flower burns a nice light heather gray ash. For as many crystals as the flower contains, I was surprised when it didn’t leave a resin ring around the joint. That’s not a knock against it, just an observation.
This is an indica leaning hybrid flower. Roughly 1/2 way through the j, effects began to set in. I notice heavy relaxation through my upper body and my mood mellow out. I’m at a point where I could take a nap, but it’s the morning and I’m already dressed for the day. At 1/3 of the left, the body relaxation is still noticeably present, but now a head change has slowly creeped up on me. It’s a feeling that wraps around the head and sort of massages it. A comfortable amount of pressure. However, at the same time my mind is a bit more active. It’s like hearing your inner voice a little bit louder. You know…those scenes in movies where you see someone smiling while typing as the camera pans in a narrated montage (?). Having a high enough THCA tolerance, I find this to be a functional feeling. With my personality, it would inspire a more introverted and creative experience. If you’re newer to THCA, a little bit of this flower will go a long way. If you’re well seasoned, go ahead and cook.
Final Thoughts and Shelf Placement

First off, thanks to Flow for the extras. I just thought I was going to be receiving some Orange Dreamsicle as a replacement for the then out of stock GBO. I appreciate being able to try some of the newer phenos. I was not informed as to whether these are being used for breeding or whether they will be going into retail. That being said, if they did enter the THCa market with this and the MAC1 that I tried, I’ve 0 doubt that they would crush it. This cut of LCG has a lot going for it. It’s a beautiful flower with a noticeable nose and flavor profile. The effects slowly build and mellow you out as opposed to some strains that smack you head on. My one critique is the nose, while pleasant, is slightly muted. It still does a good job of translating in the joint. It’s a smoking experience on par with the retail $60 – $70 1/8th in a California dispensary. Another hit from Flow.
