Ethics Statement

I was contacted by MEDMERIDIAN via instagram to try some of their latest Type III flower and give my unbiased thoughts. My views and opinions on this product are under no form of influence from the company. With that being said, let’s jump into the review.

Appearance

MEDMERIDIAN is an indoor grow facility based in the state of Wisconsin. This brings Wisconsin up to 3 high quality cultivators that I’m aware of: Wisconsin Hemp Flower for outdoor, Canna Haus Farms for greenhouse, and now MEDMERIDIAN for indoor. The Pink Panther that they’ve cultivated is an excellent example of how far Type III genetics have come along. With Alpen gleaux in its lineage, Pink Panther is a strain known for growing dense, purple buds. The MM variety is no exception to the rule. These flowers are nice and colorful. Dark purple (so dark they’re nearly black), with beautiful notes of green sprinkled throughout, and orange hairs to match. It’s a classic Cali cannabis appearance. Not only just colorful, this flower is rich with trichomes and virtually no extra sugar leaf present. Cracking open a bud reveals a nice colorful interior with a vivid purple that nearly matches that of a morning glory flower and of course, even more trichomes.

Nose

This flower has a present nose, but it isn’t necessarily as bold as some of the more current genetics that’ve been hitting the market. Pink Panther is known for having a few different smelling phenotypes. Some of them can be along the lines of a cotton candy, some of them a sour citrus or nearly Jack Herer (famous Type I strain) kind of terpene profile. This flower, personally, falls more in line with a floral cotton candy. Not as loud as I would like, but it is a noticeable profile that does invite your nose. Once you grind the flower down, the flower truly reveals itself to you. The layer that smells more similar to Jack Herer. A sour, citrus, floral element. It could be louder, but it is quite enjoyable and without a doubt, in the right direction.

Taste

The dry hit will remind consumers of JH, and once lit, the taste does a good job at delivering consistent flavor. While not citrusy, the sour and floral elements remain and do a good job at translating through in a smooth smoking experience with minimal harshness. Perhaps it may remind some seasoned consumers of some older Type I cannabis varieties. It isn’t exactly “exotic” in flavor, but is enjoyable.

Effect

I smoked somewhere between 1/2 – 1 gram in an Element rolling paper. Once finished, I waited a few minutes to let the effects kick in. Once settled, I felt a noticeable heady sensation. Not overpowering, but actually quite motivating. It’s my personal thought that this flower would be great for use while taking a walk, before exercise or while enjoying a coffee. Definitely perfect for daytime or early evening use.

Final Thoughts, Grades and Shelf Placement

This is the 3rd flower that I’ve tried from MEDMERIDIAN, and without a doubt, the best that I’ve tried from them. Their pheno of Pink Panther has a lot of things going for it. It has a beautiful appearance, a noticeably fragrant nose when broken down, a taste that has some similar notes to its nose and noticeable effects that exist on the sativa hybrid spectrum. I’ve smoked plenty of Pink Panther in the past and can comfortably recommend this one for consumers who either haven’t tried it yet or are simply looking for a quality indoor experience.
