I was contacted by Rush of Atlantis Cannabis Company via instagram to try their White CBG flower and give my unbiased thoughts. My thoughts on this product are under no form of influence from the company. With that being said, let’s jump into the review.

Strain: White CBG

Chemotype: CBG

Breeder: Oregon CBD Seeds aka GTR Seeds (Grow The Revolution)

Cultivator: Atlantis Cannabis Company

Total CBG: 14%

Total THC: 0.19%

Total CBCA: 0.365%

It’s been a while since I’ve consumed Type IV CBG flower. I’ve always found CBG to be unique in its effect, but never really a major flower in the flavor department. But before we get to that part of the review, let’s talk about the appearance on this flower. White CBG is a chemo type conversion of the THC strain, The White. Oregon CBD remained faithful to The White’s name in its looks. This flower is covered in trichomes with an excellent density to it. CBG has a tendency to be drier than CBD or THC flower, making it a little harder to roll into a joint. The batch flower I received from Atlantis has a bit more moisture on it and sticks to itself much better. It even leaves a bit of a sticky residue on the fingers, which is something I hadn’t noticed with the CBG of the past.

Though a pretty looker, one of the issues with CBG flower is that it wasn’t really bred for terpene content, like it’s CBD sibling. As a result, much of the flower on the market doesn’t have the most noticeable nose. With White CBG, you tend to get either neutral and hard to notice profile, or a more noticeable citrus tea aroma. The White CBG from ACC has that citrus tea nose to it. It’s reminiscent of say a lemon verbena or lemon balm tea with some sweetness in the background. It isn’t the most pungent aroma by any means, but it is pleasant. I can’t necessarily put this on the cultivator as this flower simply wasn’t bred to be a terp monster. It just isn’t in the genetics. Just something to keep in mind when comparing CBG flower to any of the other flowers you may be trying on the market.

Similar to the nose, the taste notes on this flower are also lighter. The bits of citrus tea in the aroma fade away into a neutral, but pleasant smoke. While there isn’t much going on in the joint flavor, just being smooth will always earn you points. Nobody wants a harsh smoke burning their throat or nostrils. There’s just a part of me that wishes that this flower was as loud as it looks. When you see the trichome coverage in the photos it instantly makes you think that this will leave your house reeking if you don’t close the jar lid, but looks can be deceiving. If anything though, the looks should give you an idea of what ACC may be able to produce with more terpene rich varieties in the Type III world.

The effects on this flower are where it truly shines. As mentioned above, it’s been a while since I’ve tried CBG flower. CBG has this interesting relaxing quality to it, without being a mental experience. An hour prior to smoking this Type IV, I smoked some potent Type I. The effects of the Type I left me with a brain fog that this CBG flower helped to mitigate. It feels almost as if it clears up the mental aspects of Type I while assisting in the physical effects Type I can produce. It’s truly a relaxing physical experience. CBG is touted as an anti-inflammatory and appetite stimulant. Though I didn’t find myself getting hungrier from this flower, my body was relaxed and there was a noticeable sensation in the head that managed to be enjoyable, while not too euphoric.

What are my thoughts after finishing the joint?

Appearance: A

Nose: C +

Taste: C

Effect: B

Shelf: MID

White CBG from Atlantis Cannabis Company is a beautiful looking flower. Covered in Trichomes, it truly does look like it was cultivated by someone passionate about what they’re doing. Everything about its looks scream TOP SHELF. Unfortunately things take a downturn though when you compare its beautiful appearance to its OK nose. The nose has a noticeable profile, but just doesn’t really have that wow factor to it. The taste falls in line with the nose and produces a smooth, but not necessarily flavorful smoke. It’s enjoyable, but you can just tell ACC can produce a much more terpene rich result with a different genetic. Effects, similar to the appearance, are where this flower shines. With the slightest bit of mental stimulation and a noticeable physical stimulation, this flower is relaxing without being overpowering in any way. Think of it like a perfect flower to consume while walking the dog, hiking or after the gym. I think it’ll make that rest even better. That being said, who’s this flower for? Anyone who is looking for and wants a beautiful flower with noticeable effects, but isn’t as concerned about the nose or taste. Maybe you live in an illegal state and you don’t want people to confuse the sell for Type I-III cannabis? This one would be for you.
